GM Diet Day One

DAY ONE- ALL FRUITS but NO bananas.  

**Melons are recommended for most of your fruit consumption, if you eat mostly melon you are suppose to lose more weight for the first day (2-3lbs.)

Started the GM diet today see how it went!

Okay… I am not going to lie today was hard for me! But I did it and stuck with it even through a movie with my husband and kiddos eating popcorn and candy right next to me while I snacked on cherries and pineapple! 

After I started this cleanse yesterday, I started thinking I am not sure this is a cleanse I want to do right before I leave town.
I am afraid going off the cleanse the day I leave may screw up my belly and make it hard to eat and drink all the delicious food I am going to consume! I DON”T want to ruin my trip just to try a cleanse out!!

So, I am going to pause this cleanse for when I get back from my trip. I am going to modify it for now by adding some protein into the diet each day!
This may change the results but for me right now that is what I need to do. I will be posting my experience but will also let you know what modifications I made along way, which really changes the whole cleanse/diet but that is okay for me right now! 

Day One of My Experience

Breakfast- Bowl of Watermelon/ 2 cups of water
Workout- 20 minutes of elliptical and 25 minutes of weights 

Lunch- Fruit salad (strawberries, pineapple, raspberries) and watermelon on the side/2 cups of water

Snack- Pineapple and cherries (movie snack)/ 2 cups of water

Dinner- 4oz chicken and Cabbage soup (which is AMAZING I will post the recipe soon)/ 2 cups of water-(chicken is not part of the day one plan but like I said I am modifying!)

How I felt through out the day- 

In the morning I felt fine and had a lot of energy to workout and was doing great most of the morning.
I did feel tired mid-day and by the late afternoon I just wanted a nap (almost fell asleep at the movie)! I really didn’t feel hungry but I really wanted to eat something besides fruit, LOL!!
By the end of the day, my stomach was crappy and I didn’t feel good and honestly my stomach hurt all night!
I was hoping for great results this morning because they say you should lose 1-3 lbs in the first day. But to my surprise I GAINED 1 lb. (what the HELL)!! I was very frustrated to say the least but today is a new day. We will see how it going.
Wish me luck friends, today I will mostly be eating all veggies and no fruit but I will add some protein in the mix!

GM Diet

The START of the GM DIET…

It is Monday and a start to a new and wonderful week (and only one week until I leave for my trip! :)) so I thought to myself why not do a 7 day cleanse before I leave! Yes, I may be crazy but I love trying out these crazy diet/cleanse things!! So, here is to the start of the GM diet for the week!! It will be hard at time for sure but I hope it will be worth it! I will post my daily activity and what I am eating to keep me accountable and to let you all know if I think it is worth it! Wish me luck here people all I get to eat today is fruit!

* I am not suggesting anyone try this form of diet I am just testing it out myself. I am not a doctor and I don’t know if this form of cleanse works. I am just sharing my experience with the GM diet to see if it works for me. It is suggested you talk with your health care physician before starting any new diet.

Motivational Monday #14

Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and are enjoy your Memorial Day! Can I just say, Wahoo!! It is my first Monday off work and relaxing for the summer!! Well, actually I have to go back to work this week for some interviews but then I am off to Hawaii for a AMAZING getaway with my main squeeze and some great friends!! I am so excited to get on the beach, soak up the sun and  drink a Pina Colada! I am a little stressed out about leaving my kiddos for 9 days (especially the littler one, he has only been without me for 2 days) but I do know they are in great hands with my mom and dad and they will take great care of them. They are some lucky kiddos, grandma and grandpa are taking them to Universal Studios for their own vacay!! Luck!! I want to see Harry Potter Land too!! 🙁 But hey I can’t complain I will be in Hawaii!! So, I think summer is off to a wonderful start  Hawaii in a week and the kids are off to California.  I can’t wait to see what  other adventures we come up with throughout  the next two and half months!! Enjoy your week everyone! I have to go and get packing! EEK!! 🙂

Motivational Monday #13

Hey Good Morning Friends! I have GREAT NEWS I only have 3 days of school left and then I am out for the SUMMER!!! I love my job and I always miss my students at school and worry about how they are doing through out the summer but on the other hand I am so excited to be able to have the ability to spend the summers off with my kiddos and create awesome memories together! This is one of the reasons I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be able to work but also be able to be with my kids when they were off school, it truly is a perfect situation! I hope everyone has a happy week and ENJOY your Monday!

Zucchini Bread

 Okay, like I said before I LOVE ZUCCHINI! So, what not put it into bread too!! This may not be the healthiest bread but it is delicious and it has vegetables in it right?? So, it can’t be too bad. Hehe!!
Bonus: It makes two loaves!! Hope you all love this Zucchini bread as much as we did! ENJOY.

This delicious zucchini bread is a MUST try!

Zucchini Bread
Serving: 2 loaves

2 eggs-beaten
1 1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups grated fresh zucchini
2/3 c melted unsalted butter
2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
3 C All-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon


1 C chopped pecans or walnuts ( My husband is deathly allergy to nuts, so I don’t know how they are in the bread but if you like nuts I bet they are delicious)
1 C chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 350. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix in the grated zucchini and then the melted butter. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. 
2. Add the flour, a third at a time. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well. 
3. Optional: Fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
4. DIvide the batter equally between 2 buttered 5X9 in. loaf pans. 
5. Bake for 50 minutes to a 1 hour or until wooden picl inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
7. Turn out onto wire racks to cool thoroughly.

Motivational Monday #12

Oh my goodness I can’t believe it is Monday!! I had such a great weekend relaxing, hanging out with friends and family that Monday just snuck up on me and I can’t believe it is here! So, Good Morning and Welcome to Monday!
I only have 8 more days of school, YES I said 8!! This year, like most years just flew by and now it is the end and it I am so excited to spend the summer with my kiddos and check off everything we have on our summer bucket list!! That is one major BONUS to being a teacher with kids, we get to share our summer adventures together! I will share our Summer Bucket List, once it is completed to help give everyone some fun ideas for summer!! Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week and had a wonderful weekend!! Motivational Monday #11-Beach Body Ready

WOW!! The weeks are just flying by. I can’t believe it is already Monday again and time for some new motivation for everyone!! I am so excited and can’t wait that I only have like 25 days or so until I am on the Beach, drink my Pina Colada!!

Shakeology Power Protein Balls

I LOVE Shakeology for millions of reasons but today I am going to share one of the millions of reasons why I LOVE Shakeology!
It is so versatile you can drink or eat it. I know some of my family and friends always say, I don’t like drinking my snack or lunch, I like to chew my calories, which I totally get!! But they also want to use Shakeology for all the benefits and nutrients it has.
So, I have found this AWESOME recipe for Shakeology Power Protein Balls. These babies are so good my kids even love them.
Also, this amazing things make you think you are eating a desert or something yummy that can’t possibly be good for you BUT they are and they are FULL of all the nutrients your body needs for the day!!
Hope you all enjoy them as much as we did! ENJOY!! 
Shakeology Power Protein Balls 
Serving Size: 16 balls


1 1/2 C dry old-fashioned oatmeal
1 C fat-free powdered milk
2 scoops Chocolate Shakeology
1/2 C milk or almond milk
1/4 C all natural Almond butter or peanut butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. Vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. raw honey
optional: 1/2 C walnuts or pecans

  • In a large bowl, mix in oatmeal, powered milk, and Shakeology.
  • In a small bowl, place milk and nut butter. Microwave for 1 minute. Add vanilla and stir well.
  • Add the nut butter mixture to the dry ingredients, with 1 Tbsp. raw honey and stir to combine. There will be about 2 cups of mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  • Using a 2 Tbsp. scoop, form 16 balls and refrigerate until firm. Wrap individually and store in the fridge.

Working out with kids!


I think it is an AMAZING thing to have my kiddos working out with me! I think to myself, WOW my kids are learning at a young age the importance of fitness and health. That they will take with them into adulthood and know how to take care of their bodies the right way.
They are learning to keep themselves moving to not just sit and watch TV. Now don’t get me wrong my kids are still kids and they like to watch TV but they are starting to remember that first we need to move our bodies then we can have some down time and relax!! 

One reason I started as a Beachbody coach was for my OWN accountability to make sure I was taking care of myself, I didn’t really think of the impact it would have on my kids but I LOVE that it is!
I love that they see me and my husband working hard to stay healthy and on the right track and they know that it is VERY important to take care of yourself and stay healthy!!
It is a good reminder for them to see that it is not always easy either but in the end it is worth it. It is important to me for my  kids to know that just because something is hard doesn’t mean we quit!
Working out is not something we want our kiddos to think is a difficulty task we want our kiddos to know that working out is fun and can be done doing a variety of things. Working out can be hard but doesn’t mean it is not fun.

Motivational Monday #10-Never Quit

Can I just tell you all how much I love doing this blog. I think it is a great way to get my thoughts out there and help motivate others to keep going. I love being able to share things that I think are important, love, and care about. I know I have only been blogging for about three months but I sure have enjoyed it and I can’t wait to continue my journey with everyone.
I hope you all enjoy my blog and know I am here to help you with your health and fitness journey. I want to be your friend and listen to you if you need a shoulder to cry on. I want to be the one who inspires you to just keep going even if it is not easy. I want to be the one to help whenever you need that extra push. It is always easier to reach your goals if you have others to help encourage you along the way, so I hope my Motivational Mondays are helping you along your path of health and fitness!!
